Taylor Mac did the show in 2 segments of 12 hours each in Philadelphia, I believe after the San Francisco and New York runs. For logistic reasons, I was only able to see about 6 hours of it, but I thought it was remarkably inventive. There was a lot of audience participation from our seats (we were given blindfolds so we could only listen, food and other stuff got passed around, etc), so it was varied and kept us engaged. There really weren't any dead spots. There was definitely a "this is a marathon that we are doing together" aspect to it as well. I'm a little surprised the documentary (which I have not yet seen) is only 1h46m, because I would have thought it would have shown longer segments.
I don't remember anything about what happened during breaks, although there must have been one during the time I was there. I'm pretty sure that the costume changes occurred on stage, as was said earlier. I don't remember them taking that long. I would jump at the chance to experience it again. |
