I agree but I think even the idea of "the people who run Hollywood" is nostalgic for an era when there were separate markets of studios and distributors who could set prices and bargain. That's no longer the case. "Hollywood" is basically one large bundle of assets whose shareholders are only concerned with short term profits. Around five years ago those assets were owned by maybe five vertically bundled companies, today it's probably closer to three. And it's not working, even the studio-streamers haven't figured out how to really make money. Like pretty much everything else in US business, these monster asset-bundles need to be broken up to achieve actual markets again so people besides billionaire investors can earn a living.
