| I find it interesting that folks complain about the escalation of TDF seats prices, when the final cost puts you in a seat that's likely close to 1/3 of the box office price. Again, because I've often been given house seats or the equivalent, I can only see the advantages. There was a fair amount of grousing about the price of the Shubert balcony seats, that TDF wasn't saving money. But if you land in the center of the first few rows, as I did, you end up with the best balcony seats for the least cash spent. TDF fills empty seats; it's not about consumer demands for ideal locations. I've had some disappointing seats (A Strange Loop, last row of mezz) but even in those instances, I'm saving money. To compare TDF seats with box office or even flyer discounts probably isn't fair. |
