He has been there far too long, and his post-Gersten years have had way too many unimaginative duds. (Which is not to say there have not been successes.) But whether he is just too cabined , or too tired, considering the possibilities of the institution, it has been a waste. Two other moments in theatre time to compare: the late tenure of George Wolfe, and André's tenure at Playwrights.
