Do you have any idea what an Associate Director does or knows? Few people if any know the show better, and are intimately familiar and directly involved with what the director wants from each role/scene/song/line/action -- they've help them executive it, gives notes to the actors on it, and possibly even come up with it in the first place. And they'd have directed and overseen the cast and the understudy put-ins many times. If they are a performer also, crazier things could happen.
The hyperbole on this board lately, I swear.
I wouldn't want this if I'd paid to see it that day, at least, I don't think I would (maybe for the story and theater-magic it'd be cool)... but it's far from putting on some random passerby. |
