| I am really tired of going to shows where either the actors accents or the poor sound design make it difficult to understand the dialogue. I remember going to see the musical waitress and the sound blurred the voices. At the time other people on this site complained, but obviously the sound designer did nothing about it so it was extremely annoying. We do not need to have actors performing in an accurate dialect when it is not comprehensible to a majority of the audience. Many years ago actors were not Miked and yet you understood them. It is the job of the Director to make sure that all the dialogue in a play can't be understood even from the last row of the theater. |
