| There was also an Off Broadway MTC version of "The Wild Party" that season; both shows used Joseph Moncure March's poem of the same title as its source material. The problem with both shows is that neither had a strong narrative drive. You can have a second-rate score; you cannot have a second-rate book and also have a successful musical. |
