Yeah, I don't think about him in any comparable way to Hank Azaria good or bad. Whether i'm specifically excited by his casting or not, or neutral but interested to see the show again (which is more where I am)... he's not "the poor man's Hank Azaria."
I dare say many people weren't all that excited about Azaria in the first place. He's an incredible voice actor, whether or not he could sail as the lead of a musical comedy where they'd all be performing in the shadow of legendary and specific comedic performances who created the movie/roles and who fans have watched do it over and over... i don't think it was an obvious slam dunk casting. |
