On Your Feet had a very respectable run on Broadway, 746 (official) perfs and 24 previews. Just a month and a week short of 2 years. It then toured for a year and a half. Nevertheless, it definitely did not recoup on Broadway.
That's what I mean about playing the Marquis. If On Your Feet had been able to secure a theater like the Imperial or August Wilson, it might have been a commercial success. |
