| LUG NUT ENTERTAINMENT IN ASSOCIATION WITH NEW YORK'S LONG RUNING MURDER MYSTERY PERFECT CRIME TO PRESENT PERFECT CRIME: THE EXHIBIT WOMEN WHO KILL & THE MOVIE STARS WHO PLAYED THEM OCTOBER 1 – NOVEMBER 5 AT THE THEATER CENTER THE ANNUAL HALLOWEEN-SEASON LOBBY EXHIBIT RETURNS TO SPOTLIGHT WOMEN ACCUSED OF MURDER AND THE VARIOUS HOLLYWOOD ACTRESSES THAT HAVE PLAYED THEM ON THE SOLVER SCREEN THE EXHIBIT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC - AND POINTS TO INFAMOUS WOMEN SUCH AS ALICE CRIMMONS, DARLIE ROUTIER, KATHERINE KNIGHT, PAMELA SMART, AMANDA KNOX AND LIZZIE BORDEN (New York, NY) – Lug Nut Entertainment (Daniel DeMello and Nathaniel Nowak) in association with the long running Off-Broadway whodunit PERFECT CRIME, today announced the return of the the annual Halloween season lobby exhibit PERFECT CRIME: THE EXHIBIT. This year's exhibit "Women Who Kill and The Movie Stars That Played Them" will run Friday October 1 through Monday November 5, within the 4th floor lobby of The Theater Center, located at 210 West 50 th Street. The exhibit is free and open to the general public during box office hours 10AM to 8PM, Monday – Friday. The lobby exhibit eerily glances at the notorious women accused of murder throughout history, drawing a connection to the Hollywood actresses who brought their stories to life on the silver screen. The exhibit delves into the chilling narratives of women like Darlie Routier (portrayed by Farah Fawcett in The Burning Bed), and Pamela Smart (played by Nicole Kidman in To Die For). Visitors can expect an unnerving journey through history and cinema, where America's fascination with crime weaves a tapestry of intrigue, suspense, and enduring allure. One prominent example of this intriguing intersection between true crime and cinema is the enduring fixation on Lizzie Borden. Over the decades, top actresses like Elizabeth Montgomery, Chloe Sevigny, and Christina Ricci have stepped into the shoes of the Victorian era socialite who was accused of gruesomely killing her parents with a hatchet. Their portrayals have ranged from the darkly dramatic (like Elizabeth Montgomery's was) to purely fantastical - as was the case when writers for the Lifetime network portrayed Lizzie as woman who murdered half the residents of the city of Fall River, MA. The exhibit will also feature the step and repeat where all criminals get their closeup: the mugshot board - where visitors will be able to pose for photos with various weapons of their choice – most deriving from the gruesome stories featured within the exhibit. The perfect show for CSI and Law & Order fans, PERFECT CRIME tells the story of brilliant but money hungry psychiatrist and suspected cold-blooded killer Margaret Brent, her wealthy husband, deranged patient, and the handsome detective who's falling in love with her while trying to solve the crime. The production has the distinction of being the only show (on or Off-Broadway) that has run in New York City during the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and now the 20s. The ‘urban legend' has managed to withstand the test of time – evolving with the changing styles, technology, culture, audiences, and various crises around it. PERFECT CRIME was written by Warren Manzi and produced by Armand Hyatt, and features Catherine Russell, who was featured by the Associated Press as "The Off-Broadway force of nature." She has performed in the show since its first performance and has never taken a sick day or a vacation day in the past 35 years! It's a feat that has landed her in the Guinness Book of World Records. Russell's incredible streak has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, Good Morning America and in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Daily News and numerous other media outlets including People, which dubbed her "The Cal Ripken of Broadway." The cast of PERFECT CRIME also features Michael Halling, David Butler, Charles Geyer, and Patrick Robustelli (a well-known Broadway restaurant owner in an on-video cameo). PERFECT CRIME was directed by Jeffrey Hyatt. Tickets for PERFECT CRIME are available by calling the box office at (212) 921-7862 or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. Student rush tickets ($35) are also available by calling or visiting the box office. The Theater Center is located on the corner of Broadway and 50th Street, at 210 West 50th Street. www.perfect-crime.com |
