| I just, reluctantly, renewed my Lincoln Center Theater membership, and I find myself annoyed by the $5.50 service charge for each $50 membership, since there is also a per ticket service charge when ordering tickets online. Does this strike anyone else as a kind of “double dipping” — you’re charged a service fee for renewing membership, then charged another service fee for ordering tickets? On a somewhat related note, I also booked tickets for three shows for an upcoming trip to London. Service charges were half what they are here and ranged from the equivalent of $3.50 to $6.00 a ticket. Why are service charges more than twice as much here? I try to buy at the box office as much as possible to avoid them, but still… |
