| I was at the matinee of Purlie Victorious and a number of phones went off. This was notwithstanding the fact that two different pre-show announcements were made to completely turn off phones, one specifically talking about the special test alert today. In addition, as they seated people, the ushers told them about the emergency alert and the need to completely turn off phones. The play continued without any pause or acknowledgment of the noise by the actors, who just continued as if nothing was going on, and the audience was generally good natured about it - either quietly laughing or silently shaking their heads. |
