This is an interesting case. Deborah S. Proctor who wrote the letter criticizing one of the operas as featuring a "non-biblical depiction" of Mary (whatever that means) has an admirable long-term record of service to the local classical radio station. I wonder if this was her decision and/or whether she misread how purple her region has become.
