Your question is a very interesting one. I can't think of anyone that has the star power and the voice to replace Groban.
It seems unlikely that at the height of his career he would extend past January. I really have to give Groban huge credit for taking time from the thriving concert and singing career to do Broadway. I'm sure he makes more money in one night at radio city. Then he makes in a month at Sweeney.
I also wonder if the show is profitable. I have to imagine that the weekly running cost is enormous. While the show seems to be doing well it is not a "Hamilton type" of sell out. It will be interesting to see if the show ends up profitable or in the red. |
