In a recent rally, Trump claimed he was supported by Hannibal Lecter: ''How great an actor was he? ... He said [on TV} 'I love Donald Trump.' So I love him.''

For the record, Anthony Hopkins, best-known for playing Lecter, the serial killer in ''The Silence of the Lambs,'' has never publicly voiced any support for Trump.

Off-Broadway, Lecter was played by Brent Barrett in the 2015 parody ''Silence! The Musical,'' but I'm willing to bet Barrett hasn't voiced any support for Trump either.

Howard McGillin tells a great Trump story in this clip with Seth Rudetsky (including how Trump told an audience at Mar-a-Lago that McGillin had been voted the best Phantom of all time - a complete fiction, of course). Trump's disconnect from truth and reality has been evident for a LONG time

Wait till he finds out Hopkins isn't really Richard Nixon, either...
