Christopher Ashley's direction soars as the La Jolla Playhouse presents the world premiere of Joe Iconis and Gregory S. Moss's tribute to Gonzo journalism. Gabriel Ebert makes for a tall, bland, Hunter, but George Abud shines as Richard Nixon, Hunter's nemesis. The rest of the cast adds sparkle, and Wilson Chin's scenic design is alone worth the price of admission. Extended, but closes soon to make way for a play about Sumo wrestlers and "Babbit", starring Matthew Broderick.
