| In 1973, when Joe Papp and the New York Shakespeare Festival took over the Beaumont, he made the name change from Vivian Beaumont TheatRE to TheatER, doing the same for Mitzi E. Newhouse. We joked that he was also going to change ShakespeaRE to ShakespeaER. |
