Actually, I'll give you that the intervals of "you're always a day" (with "day" going downward) are all the same as "a woman alone." The difference is how the music arrives there - the approaches are slightly different. (The "to" in "I love you tomorrow" breaks a pattern that stays consistent in the "Pies" sequence.)

One interesting similarity between the two songs is that the orchestral rideouts are both based on the FIRST phrases of the songs. As Annie hits her last high note, we hear the orchestra play "sun'll come out tomorrow" etc. When Lovett hits her last note, what's in the orchestra is based on the melody of "Wait! what's your rush, what's your hurry" etc. To me that's much more interesting. :-)
