I would say not in any meaningful sense.

There were seven one-act plays that were to have been produced as an evening titled Company, starring Kim Stanley, John McMartin and Ron Leibman. Onlu one-and-a-half of those plays had anything significant incorporated into the musical Company. Prince says three, but I trust Zadan more on this since I would think he asked Furth.

I leave it to you: Is Company an original or no? The plays had never been produced.

Putting aside the idea that, at least as far as this discussion is concerned, musicals recounting historical events are not originals, would Pacific Overtures not otherwise be considered an original because it was adapted very freely from an unproduced play by John Weidman?
