I love both Ludlam and Busch (Tavel not so much but he’s very interesting) but Ludlam’s plays were both pastiche and homages to the dramatic narrative form. When he wanted to play with a traditional story he did, as in “Galas”, “Irma Vepp”, “Camille” etc.
