It's easy to be cynical about casting that, on its surface, feels extremely "stunt-y," but I've come to more and more respect the decision to bring in these reality-adjacent performers (Ariana Madix, Pamela Anderson) as a thrilling and contemporary hybrid of the "ripped from the headlines drama" that quite literally fuels the plot.
Broadway needs more deliberate casting like this, and less "bringing YouTube celebrity into the cast of 'Mean Girls'," please. |
