Sorry to be so late on this, but Some Like It Hot winning is shocking. I would have put it dead last in likelihood of winning among the nominees, by far. All four of the other nominees probably got a decent number of votes, and the vote splitting presumably helped Some Like It Hot make it to the top.
The winner here is usually the Best Musical or Best Musical Revival Tony winner, or a big hit. Some Like It Hot didn't get particular praise for its score, and I'm really surprised that it won. |
