| Hi Laura, I don't think I know you but always enjoy your postings and insights here. My name is Michael Estwanik. I don't know if you want people to know much about your illness which requires immunotherapy, but I am just curious. Whatever the ailment, I am praying for your very speedy and permanent recovery. But please do share with all of us what your new book is called. I am the founder and board president of American Songbook Today, a 501(c)(3) non-profit which I started about 30 years ago as I left being president of the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) for five years. I have lived in Ojai, CA for four years, and just recently moved to Ventura. I have presented eight American Songwriter Tribute Concerts here thus far: Berlin, Porter, Rodgers & Hart, the Gershwin Brothers (two separate concerts), Kander & Ebb, and this next Sunday "Maestro Bernstein." Tickets at OjaiundergroundExchange.com I do the research, find the eight or nine singers, assign the songs, etc. All the singers live in Ojai or Ventura County except one young man, Jonah Robinson, based in Los Angeles, who is destined for stardom. You heard it hear folks. Oh, and one other concert we did in November 2022 was "Songs for Peace," celebrating the songs of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, etc. I am afraid we need to repeat that very soon. |
