You're a lot tougher on shows than I am. However, I agree with you that Future and Merrily were definitely two of the most entertaining musicals I saw last fall. I was particularly impressed with Casey Likes and Roger Bart, who both really made the roles their own and didn't just do clones of Fox and Lloyd.

I have always been a huge fan of Merrily's score. I've seen 7 productions of the show over the last 30 years. This one is clearly the best and the first time the entire production really worked for me, probably because of the cast and direction.

I'm also a big fan of the Wholesale score. Last year's revisal did the material justice. I particularly liked Fontana and Kuhn and was knocked out by Julia Lester's performance of "Marmelstein", which was a totally different take on the number than Streisand's.

I found Harmony to be a powerful story with a fine Manilow score and excellent performances, especially by Zien and Benko. I think the current tragic events in Israel and Gaza have created an environment that makes this show a really tough sell right now.

I found Anuncia interesting and liked the cast. After being pretty disappointed with Bounce and Road Show, I had very low expectations for Here We Are, but I was pleasantly surprised by its clever adaptation of the two Bunuel films.

I have tickets for Hell's Kitchen, Stereophonic, and other shows in April and will most likely catch Gatsby as well.
