My personal sense is that 10 or 15 years ago, I don't feel like I saw it a lot on stage, but it's become more and more common over time. I don't think it's that rare anymore. I feel like in a large percentage of shows I see, someone is crying actual tears or at least has watery eyes at some point.
Perhaps your seats have just gotten better. ;) |
