Buddy Hackett once told this tall tale on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson":
Working with the lovely Shirley Jones on "The Music Man", he learned her method. Shirley would cut a small notch in one delicate fingernail. When called upon to cry, she would raise her elegant hands to her face and use the nail to pluck a single nose hair. Tears would then begin flow.
Is this from Stanislavsky?
I've looked too many hours today to find this clip, to no avail. He told it much, much better. |
