I'm among the bigger Follies fanatics you could find, and I think her Sally is probably as good as Collins. To say she was a top tier Sally is being modest -- with Collins and than Barbara Cook in the concert, McKenchnie is at the top. It's there on the Papermill album, to prove it, but she was amazing in the show too.

The only other person I've seen come close was Victoria Clark in the LA sitdown of the 2011 Broadway revival, when she took over for Bernadette. I was so lucky to see her do it. (I saw my beloved Bernadette do it twice and Clark was miles better than either performance I saw of BP)

Sally is a role that's pretty much made for her. I understand what you mean that she's not known for her great acting, but I think her acting is sensational in the right role. Certainly Cassie was it. And so was Sally.
