This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Broadway debut of Jim Corti ("Ragtime," "Music Is"). Corti was an ensemble member in director Harold Prince's environmental 1974 staging of Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" in the then-gutted Broadway Theatre.
Now as artistic director of the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois, Corti will help oversee the opening of the new flexible Stolp Island Theatre that launches this summer with an environmental production of "Million Dollar Quartet."
Corti also touches upon the scuttled "Ragtime Reunion Concert" screening toward the end of this Windy City Times profile.
