I love this interview with a 27-year old Martin Short before his skeezy show biz characters had begun to colour his public persona. He seems so sweet and innocent and knowing that he would make such hay with his imitation of Brian Linehan (renamed Brock Linehan) a few years later, I love watching him watch Linehan and marvel at the depth of his research and obsession. (City Lights was a wonderful interview program and Linehan not only sat down with the many celebrities who passed through Toronto of the 1970's and 80's, but also was instrumental in promoting the careers of local boys like Short.)
