| That he choice to end his review with praise of Maryann Plunkett's stage career was lovely! I never read the book or saw the movie ( I did with "Water For Elephants" ) so was stunned at some of the weird plot details which SPOILER ALERT involved a year of letters finally delivered in an unbelievable way ( no, they weren't under seat D101 ). Lovely voices give little material to work with ( the applause is for the talent, not the tunes )! Ugly set with a trough of water for no reason ( like "The Days Of Wine & Roses" ). You were guaranteed to laugh in "Shucked" due to bad jokes, you are guaranteed to cry at the denouemen ( nicely staged ). |
