Most of the actors I know in Chicago have regular day jobs, like customer service or any variety of other occupations. When I was teaching high school, there were instructors in my school who acted in the evening and on weekends in community theatre.
From 1987 through 2018 I worked for a paper company. We had a young guy in our customer service department who did stand-up comedy at night. Today he is a well known actor, who has done TV work (Frosted Flakes commercial, Chicago P.D., David Letterman, Stephen Colbert), hosted comedy specials on PBS, cabaret and night clubs, etc. |
