I say this as a fan of Ben Platt- what a letdown and embarrassment of an announcement.
The opening of the Palace is an honour that belongs to someone of stature, whether it's Barbra Streisand or even a pop singer like Lady Gaga or Adele, who were previously rumoured to be the ones in this spot. Ben Platt is simply not the major talent required for an event like this. Very disappointing.
