I sat in the 200 section, on the odd-numbered side. I don't know that it was any better/worse than the even-numbered side. I will say the first 1-2 rows on each side looked a bit "low" in comparison to the stage, although if you like being very close, you will get that by sitting there. I would say the sides are probably a bit better than the ends, although if you are choosing between closer to the stage on the ends, and last row on the sides, it might be a bit of a wash. Direction-wise, it felt very much "in the round," with no side being the "important people side." Although I believe all (or at least most) press seats were/are in the 200 sections, if that helps.

Audience participation - no one is "chosen." I believe everyone has an equal opportunity.

HEAVY SPOILER EXPLANATION

So as I said above, no one is chosen (as far as I could see). The "pause" that happens is a lot more than a pause. Basically, the stage becomes a bar, and bartenders come out to offer anyone who wants it a free shot of aquavit. So the audience lines up and files through the stage. Most people (myself included) got the shot and went back to their seat - it's crowded and I wanted to get out of everyone's way. But some just sort of sat on the stage and stayed there. It didn't seem like they had any kind of "permission" to do so (although I guess it is possible they did? Maybe someone can correct me.) It just seemed like they found a seat - one of the chairs, or on the benches on either side - and didn't leave. And then they stayed sitting there through the Town Hall scene. Then after that, the audience members were cleared for the final scene. I think at least some went back to their seats. *** BUT - the two people sitting next to us never came back. I thought they had left the theater, but it turns out they had stayed on stage, which I know because I saw one coming back at the end to get her bag she had left at her seat (and I remembered seeing her on the stage). So I'm guessing for whatever reason, she wasn't able to return to her seat after the Town Hall scene, so perhaps there is a risk there.

If you want that free shot, I would say make your way to the stage as soon as you can. (Don't try and run to the bathroom and then return.) They did run out of Aquavit the night I went - if anything, that seemed to be the sign the "pause" was over, as opposed to any pre-determined length. And also, they do card people who look young enough to be under 21.
