| I think your point would be better taken were this a romance between Mr and Mrs. Webb. But that is not the case. Therefore the emphasis is really on what the individual actor can bring to the part of parent to Emily. Thomas is perhaps a bit old to be the father of someone Emily's age but he can play younger. Holmes is very young to play the mother of Zoey Deutch and I wish maybe Cherry Jones, Laura Linney or Amy Irving was going to play the part or even Mary Badham who toured with Thomas in "To Kill a Mockingbird" but Holmes is a talented actress and it will be interesting to see what she brings to the part of Mrs. Webb. |
