If you can get to Westwood (it may be a hefty Lyft fee on a Friday night) I highly recommend the current production of FAT HAM. Pretty sure it is the original Broadway cast, it's 95 minutes (no intermission) and it is fantastic. There is not much theater in the general vicinity of LAX, though if you feel like taking a chance, you could check out STEEL MAGNOLIAS at the Westchester Playhouse. It's quite close to LAX and they are a community theater with a long history. The Pasadena Playhouse is closing ONE OF THE GOOD ONES this weekend but that is a very long way from LAX. If you want to venture to Hollywood, Actors Co-op (which is sometimes reliable, sometimes not) opens TWELFTH NIGHT on Friday and there is a production of THE PILLOWMAN at the Broadwater that opens tonight. I've seen some good work in that venue. Lyft will be pricey as it is at least a 45 minute drive from LAX.
