| I saw Appropriate at Victory Gardens in Chicago on Nov. 30, 2013. I saw the Broadway production on Mar. 27, 2024. It's the same basic story with the same characters and same ending. On Broadway Cassidy is played by Alyssa Emily Marvin, who seems like a very young teen. Her crush on Rhys seems pretty innocent (at least on her part). In Chicago the actress playing Cassidy was a little older and more mature. Her crush on Rhys seemed a lot more sexual. However, it's been 10-1/2 years so I can't say for sure whether the revisions to the play were substantive or just tweaks. |
