I agree with ablankpage - besides Gavin Creel, there wouldn't be name recognition for the rest of the West End cast, so it wouldn't make much sense to bring them over. They were all terrific (I especially fell in love with Bonnie Langford), but there is amazing talent right here. Speculating on the casting feels a little bit like Fantasy Football for Sondheim. I can't believe this show is almost a whole year away!

My two cents: I didn't think the orchestra was small in London. Honestly, I thought it sounded pretty full and gorgeous. (I believe they had 18 musicians.) I saw MERRILY on Broadway a few weeks after seeing STEPHEN SONDHEIM'S OLD FRIENDS and recall thinking that the overture sounded much fuller and lusher in OLD FRIENDS.
