When I read your post about your seeing the revival of The Wiz, you mentioned that you "had a little something" to get through a boring show. Well, the guy who sat behind me at Carmelina most likely did indeed have a little something before he came to the theater. Initially when I heard him disclose he was an ATC-er, I turned around and began chatting with him, mostly about Lerner and Lane's other Broadway shows. I assumed that everyone who attends Muftis understands that they are considered readings although some (like The Grass Harp and I Love My Wife) really did appear to be just like full productions.
Anyway, when I noticed his strong reaction, I quickly ended our interaction.
Full disclosure: Years ago an ex-boyfriend of mine often needed a little something to watch certain movies we would see in a cinema. However, I never went with him to see live theatre. |
