Hart could be sloppy at times, but when did you ever open two shows….on consecutive nights (1926)? Plenty of shows in the twenties and thirties were created under circumstances far more hectic than in later decades. Of course, Hart was known for avoiding work like the plague, but he still created some of the finest lyrics in Broadway history.
