Casting is the most important part

Years ago, I saw hold onto me, darling starring Timothy Olyphant, and I thought it was one of the best plays. I had seen in a while, and I thought his performance was fantastic. Going back to the play tonight with Adam Driver, it was a bitter disappointment. Mr. Olyphant played Strings as a charming hapless lovable rake.
Despite his crazy antics you felt sorry for him and you wanted to hug him at the end of the play the way his father does. Unfortunately, Mr. Driver has no charm and is constantly sullen just long suffering. The rest of the cast is well chosen, and they bring some life to the play, but what were they thinking casting Mr. Driver in this part? The second time around, broke the charm for me on this play. I got a ticket for $100 but $300 a little closer? Save your money.
