I have a special feeling for the Marroquin Roxie. When Broadway re-opened, I chose Chicago for my return (remember our trepidation? 1000+ people in masks?), and she was the star. That September night in 2021, so memorable and even historic* after 19 months of darkness and silence, she embodied musical theater to me.
*I realize a few shows began again in August. That was the night of relaunch for multiples at the same time that seemed to literally re-open Times Square as gateway to the theater district. If you were there, you'll always remember it. |
