Back in the early days of this revival, D'Amboise and Belle Calloway were the utility Roxies, seemingly getting plugged into the various productions whenever a bigger star name wasn't available. I saw both of them several times. I don't know what Calloway is up to these days, but it's been great seeing D'Amboise become this production's MVP over the years.
The most remarkable part for me was the period when she was playing Roxie on Broadway while also standing by for Christina Applegate in the most recent Broadway revival of SWEET CHARITY, after playing the pre-Broadway Boston engagement while Applegate recovered from injury. I mean, how does a person do that? |
