I wish broadway audiences were still interested in a family show as sophisticated musically as Secret Garden, but I'm not sure it would run. I'm also not sure if children are given the book to read anywhere near as much as they were from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 90s, in terms of audiences who have a deep attachment to the book/story/movies. It's possible the 90s was the last decade when a musical of Secret Garden could succeed on Broadway, let alone one that isn't written with a more accessible pop/folk score.
But I'd love to see it.

There was a broadway bound revival that was meant to go to on tour i think or straight to Broadway from LA, done about a year ago at the Ahmanson, that was a flop critically and commercially if i'm not mistaken, and NYC plans were scrapped. I didn't end up seeing it because I heard nothing but bad things. I kind of wish I had, but I have to be careful where I spend my money lately.
