Dropping $908k from $1.7m the week before. Usually there is a drop opening week because of comps for press and friends, but that is a larger than usual drop. It’s not from reviews and the cast wasn’t absent. I don’t know what would be the cause.
The rest of the new shows did about the same as the week before. Although stereophonic dropped $104k from only $440k the week before. Part of that is opening night comps but it’s surprising to me that the show isn’t doing better in previews. But with glowing reviews it should improve and with many tony nominations next week.
Heart of R&R only at $252k for the third full week of previews. Even with good reviews it got, it has a long way to get to profitable range. |
