After Pauley's Eva spent the whole show in a slip with her long, dark hair down, in the final sequence, when the ensemble sings about preparing Eva's body for preservation, they circled around her, blocking her from audience view, and, when they separated, she was in full, traditional Evita regalia with the famous blonde bun. It suggested that it was only in her death that Eva Peron became Eva Peron--that the legend of who she was came less from what she did and more how she was portrayed by those who survived her. |
