I'm in agreement that the first act is much better.

What did you think about "Beautiful Little Fool" being the eleven o'clock number? If I remember correctly, it is almost a throwaway line in chapter one of the book. Its placement at the end of Act Two, puts too much emphasis on Daisy.

I also think Gatsby is kind of a doofus when he's trying to meet Daisy. "Hi, we met a few years ago and now I'm a millionaire," is a great pickup line. He just seems to be trying too hard.
