That would require this motley group of producers to actually care about something other than money alone. It’s shocking, but not surprising, that they have failed to address this.
When Verdin got sick, Minnelli showed up and played Roxie til Verdon was well enough to continue. I think most of us would forgive the situation if they just announced a schedule of let the understudy play the part until Mendez gets her shit together. At least the people shelling out HUNDREDS of dollars (for the balcony!) would have some idea of what to expect. |
