Ha Fair enough. I should not have combined short and flop. It wasn't that short. But it was a flop (in the sense of not recouping its investment). It also won no Tonys and didn't get great reviews.

Don't get me wrong, I personally LOVED it. I saw a matinee in the spring of 1994 with Petula Clark and the Cassidy brothers and it remains to this day the hardest I ever cried at a show (movie, tv, live theatre, anything). I was young. I know to others the emotion may have seemed manipulated, but for where I was at that moment in my life, it had a profound effect. On my recommendattion some (American) friends saw it in London in the mid 2000's and absolutely loathed it. They thought it was corny and were actually a bit resentful that I pointed them in that direction to spend their time and money.
