Question for those who have seen BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE MUSICAL

Saw this very entertaining adaptation of the popular film -- very much in the theme park musical genre, but that was just fine for my visiting family, and the technical elements truly are exciting.

POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD:

However, just before the climactic sequence when Marty must return to the present time (well, 1985, actually), the production stopped briefly for "technical difficulties." Okay, it happens, right? Yet, the houselights and announcement that we'd be paused for a moment came up so quickly that we wondered if it was somehow a planned part of the show? Did anyone else who saw this show experience this break just before the climactic final time travel sequence?
