Another Opening, Another Show!
The Byron Carlyle was purchased by the city of Miami in 2002. Following a 1.7 million dollar renovation, the city unveiled an exquisite performing arts jewel, the Byron Carlyle Theatre. The theatre will serve as a cultural centerpiece for the Miami Beach community.
"We are delighted the city has entrusted Byron Carlyle Theatre to the Stage Door. We embrace the challenges ahead of us, and look forward to being a destination for both residents and tourists in the area," said Stage Door Founder and Executive Producer, David Torres. Producing Artistic Director, Derelle Bunn, said "As a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to the performing arts, our mission includes the preservation of Musical Theatre; and we intend to continue that Stage Door tradition at the Byron Carlyle."
The first show at the Byron Carlyle will be Suds, the Rockin' 1960's Musical that the was a long running success last year in their location in Coral Springs. After a "soft opening," a grand opening is planned for the fall.
The Stage Door Theatre is a not-for-profit professional theatre company hiring local and non-local nonunion actors and actresses. Their main theatre at 8036 W. Sample Rd in Coral Springs, Florida, has two stages open year round. For tickets and information on their season, you may contact them by phone at 954-344-7765 or online at www.stagedoortheatre.com.
